Nikon prepares Android-camera Coolpix S800


Do you think what steps a company specializing in the production of compact cameras, if one will feel not weak competition from manufacturers of camera phones? Most likely, it will follow by Nikon. The Japanese manufacturer has decided to deal with competitors of their own weapons, as evidenced by the intention to release a Nikon camera under the control of the popular mobile operating system.


As the resource Nikon Rumors, getting ready to release the camera Coolpix S800 will run on a platform of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and gain access to the online service, Google Play, which will in between photo sessions to enjoy your favorite mobile game.

Nikon Coolpix S800 has the following specifications:

• 25-250 mm Lens
• 3,5-inch OLED-display
• Support applications Google Play
• OS Android 2.3 (presumably)
• Built-in GPS-module
• Built-in Wi-Fi

From high-grade mobile devices such cameras will differ only in the absence of support provider. But it's not such a big problem. It is expected that the Android-operated camera Nikon Coolpix S800 will debut on August 22.
