SoftBank unveils 4G LTE-compatible smartphones for winter, spring 2014


Japense carrier Softbank has just announced three new Android smartphones that will make up its 4G LTE line for the rest of the year until early next year. The Fujitsu Arrows A 301F, the Sharp AQUOS Xx mini 303SH and the AQUOS Xx 302SH will be available in a series of launches starting December this year.

Acer Iconia W4 sighted in hands-on video, powered by Intel Bay Trail


After Intel formally announced its new line of more powerful but still energy efficient mobile processors, it is only natural to hear of tablets and hybrids sprouting up that touts Intel’s Bay Trail chips. One such device is the Acer Iconia W4 which seems to be somewhat an incremental upgrade from the company’s recent Iconia W3 tablet.

Sharp's Windows 8 Tablet Packs 10.1-inch 2560 x 1600 IGZO Display


At CEATAC Japan, Sharp today showed off their very first Windows 8 tablet. Dubbed the Mebius Pad, this tablet comes with Sharp's own IGZO based 10.1-inch panel with an impressive 2560 x 1600 screen resolution.

Professional Monitor Launched by NEC, MultiSync LCD-PA302W


As far as screen sizes go, 29.8 is a pretty unusual one, but when it comes to professional displays, it doesn't matter than much, since these things are bought in bulk, so if they sell, they always sell at least decently well.

The display of 29.8 inches you are looking at in the above photo is the MultiSync LCD-PA302W from NEC.

Yamaha YSP-1400 and YAS-152 sound bars rock built-in subwoofers and Bluetooth connectivity


Yamaha has announced two new sound bar audio systems designed to go along with flatscreen TVs called the YSP-1400 and YAS-152. Both of the sound bars have all-in-one designs featuring built-in subwoofers and integrated Bluetooth wireless technology. Yamaha uses that Bluetooth technology to add a couple of important features the sound bars.

Sony VPL-VW1100ES and VPL-VW600ES projectors support 4K content and upscaling



Sony unveiled new 4K home theater projectors at CEDIA this week that offer high resolutions and are aimed at custom installers. The projectors include the Sony VPL-VW1100ES and Sony VPL-VW600ES. The VW1100ES home theater projector supports 4K images and comes bundled with several other Sony products allowing users to take advantage of 4K viewing in home right now.

Pentax K-3 DSLR press shot and specs leak


Following a leak of its specifications earlier this week, the Pentax K-3 has surfaced in the first press shot seen of the DSLR, as well as some other rumored specs that photographers can expect. According to the leaked information, the Pentax K-3 will be an APS-C based device offering new in-camera functions, a new flash, and more.

LG Ultra HD LA9650 55″ and 65″ TVs introduced, launch in US this month


LG has introduced two new Ultra HD televisions for the U.S. market, the LA9650 55-inch and 65-inch TVs. The announcement is in conjunction with the 2013 Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association Expo, CEDIA, and follows shortly after the company unveiled its new pair of 29-inch UltraWide monitors. Both of these new Ultra HD televisions are set to hit shelves later this month.

Thermaltake Intros Armor A30i


Thermaltake's next big cubical enthusiast PC case, the Armor A30i, builds on the iconic Armor A30 the company launched way back in 2010. Measuring 291 x 456 x 266 mm, this case opens up from four sides - top, sides, and rear. The rear panel pulls out with the motherboard tray, which seats micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboard types. Made mostly of steel and ABS plastic, the case weighs in at 5.9 kg.

XFX Radeon R9 280X Double Dissipation Pictured


Although Radeon R9 280X has a lot in common with Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition, AMD's AIB partners are expected to come up with entirely new board designs. A case in point is the XFX Double Dissipation card, pictured below. While we don't know if XFX is recycling PCB designs over from the HD 7970 GHz Edition, the cooler certainly looks new, with its tall and chunky aluminium fin heatsink that's fed by copper heat-pipes, and a pair of 100 mm fans. Its box speaks of an "unlocked voltage" feature.

Based on the 28 nm "Tahiti XTL" silicon, Radeon R9 280X features 2,048 GCN stream processors, 128 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 3 GB of memory. The GPU is expected to be clocked a notch above 1.00 GHz on XFX' card, and the memory around 6.40 GHz. Slated for October 3rd, the card is expected to be priced anywhere between $299 and $329.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition launches in the US on October 10


Announced at the beginning of the month – alongside the Note 3 – the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition will be released in the US on October 10. Customers will be able to find it at Samsung Experience Shops, Samsung.com, Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, PC Richard & Son, Tiger Direct, Fry’s, and other retailers. Pre-orders will start tomorrow, September 27.

MSI Officially Announce AMD FM2+ Military Class 4 Motherboard

Asus RT-AC68U 1900 Mbps router hits pre-order

Samsung exec: Galaxy Gear support coming to Galaxy S4 next month


Right now if you want to use Samsung's new smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear, you'll need a Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy Tab 10.1 2014 Edition to go with it. That's because only those devices feature the built-in "Gear Manager" app that links with the watch. However, at the announcement event in Berlin earlier this month Samsung mentioned that other devices would be updated with Gear support in the future, and it seems we now have a rough timetable for that process.

DeepCool Unveils the Tesseract Mid-Tower PC Chassis


In addition to revealing the Pangu, DeepCool has this week introduced a second mid-tower PC case, a model called Tesseract. Set to arrive in black and white versions, the chassis measures 472 x 210 x 454 mm, it weighs 5.1 kg, and features a mesh front panel, top-placed audio and USB (one USB 3.0, one USB 2.0) ports, seven PCI slots, and support for ATX and micro-ATX motherboards, and for graphics cards up to 305 mm in length.

Japanese display maker Iiyama announced ProLite XB2779QS, a stylish new 27-inch WQHD monitor. Nokia is holding an event dubbed Innovation Reinvented in Abu Dhabi on October 22 and according to sources close to the company's plans, the Finns are preparing to unveil a total of six devices.

Epson Powerlite Pro Cinema 6030UB and Home Cinema 5030UB/UBe support 2-D and 3-D content


Epson has unveiled several new projectors aimed at home theater users. The new projectors include the PowerLite Pro Cinema 6030UB, Pro Cinema 4030, and Home Cinema 5030UB/UBe. The Pro Cinema projectors are sold through custom installers while the Home Cinema will be sold through traditional channels. All the projectors offer 2400 lm of color and white brightness.

Radeon R9 290X Pictured, Tested, Beats Titan
