[CES 2013] ASUS ROG RAIDR PCI Express SSD

ASUS has added a new product to its already extensive ROG line (Republic of Gamers). It isn't a new PC or motherboard though, nor a peripheral or gaming gadget. Instead, it is a solid-state drive. And not just any solid-state drive, but a PCI Express SSD card.

The add-in board is made of several MSATA SSD sub-units linked together in a RAID 0 configuration. Probably four mSATA 6 Gb/s sub-units.

ASUS will have to post the product page of the drive before we can know the read and write speeds, but they must be quite high.

Knowing previous PCI Express SSDs, and the effectiveness of RAID technology, chances are high for transfer speeds of well above 1 GB/s.

ASUS designed the ROG RAIDR for PCI Express 2.0 x4 slots and gave it a red black heatsink, plus an EMI shield.

Any PC equipped with the card is bound to work much more quickly than regular ones.
