[CES 2013] Nikon's D5200 DSLR Camera

As it happens, CES 2013 is proving to be more than a stage for new products. It is acting as the place where companies are announcing the broadening of availability for existing devices as well. Nikon's D5200 DSLR camera has been up for sale in Europe and other areas for a while now.

The US has been a bit slower on the uptake though, but that is ready to change.

Nikon is going to start selling the D5200 to US-based customers at some point this month (January 2013).

Thus, prospective buyers can already start planning what they will do with that 24.1-megapixel sensor, the Full HD video recording function, a 100-6400 ISO range (expandable to 25,600) and the 39-point autofocus system.

Nikon also equipped the camera with a 3-inch LCD (921k dots and has 170-degree viewing angles).

Special effects can be applied to photos right on the camera.

The price of the Nikon D5200 will be $899.95. Not unexpected, given the EU price of 888 Euro.

The optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter (to control the camera with a smartphone or tablet) will ship for $74.96 / 57.12 – 74.96 Euro.
