[CES 2013] Vizio Unveils 1080p Tablet with Windows 8 Pro

This year’s CES comes with some pretty interesting Windows 8 devices, including Vizio’s first tablet ever running Microsoft’s new operating system.

And no, we’re not talking about the utterly limited Windows RT, but about the full-featured Windows 8 that boasts support for legacy apps and so many other great features.

The Vizio Tablet PC comes with an 11.6-inch screen and a dual-core, 1GHz AMD Z60 processor, which makes it a pretty special device, since it combines the power of Windows 8 with an AMD chip.

Aside from the 1080p display (which, by the way, is kind of surprising), the device runs a fresh copy of Windows 8 delivered via Microsoft Signature, so you won’t get any useless app to affect performance or the overall experience.

And in case you were wondering, the tablet hides 2GB of RAM, a 2-megapixel camera, an SSD with 64 GB of storage, micro-HDMI and micro-USB ports.

Engadget says that Vizio has decided to remain tight-lipped on pricing and availability, but the Tablet PC will most likely go on sale in a couple of months.
