RCA unveils new Mobile TV Tablet


The RCA name has lost some of the luster it had in years past when the company was a major manufacturer of TVs and VCRs among other things. The RCA name is back at CES 2013 stamped on the front of a new mobile TV tablet. The product is called the RCA Mobile TV Tablet and features a mobile TV tuner that is compatible with the Dyle mobile TV service.

That mobile TV service offers viewers access to 130 different mobile TV stations throughout the country. The tablet features and eight-inch screen and is a fully functional Android touchscreen device. The tablet features integrated Wi-Fi, dual cameras, and GPS functionality.

In addition to having the integrated Dyle mobile TV tuner the device also has a TSC mobile DTV tuner integrated as well. The eight-inch screen of the tablet has a resolution of 1024 x 768. The processor is a Cortex A5 operating at 1 GHz.

The tablet has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of integrated storage. The tablet has front and rear cameras, dual integrated speakers, USB and micro USB slots, as well as a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The tablet weighs 1.4 pounds and promises of battery life of up to four hours for TV viewing effort 10 hours of web surfing. The tablet will launch this spring at an MSRP of $299.
