Dell UltraSharp U2413 24-Inch Monitor Official Information Appears

Courtesy of Dell's Chinese website we now have full, official details on the latest UltraSharp monitor on the block, the 24-inch U2413.

The new 24 "model will indeed be called the U2413 and sticks with the 16:10 aspect ratio 1920 x 1200 resolution of its predecessors (U2412M and U2410). The screen is aimed at colour enthusiasts and is" designed out-of-the- box to provide consistent colour "through a factory calibration process. A factory calibration report is included in the box as well and the process is designed to ensure overall DeltaE of <2. The screen offers a colour gamut covering 99% of the Adobe RGB colour space (also covering 100% of sRGB and beyond - 120% is mentioned), and offers the user six-axis control over the colour channels from the OSD. The screen also features hardware calibration with a programmable 14-bit LUT which is certainly something new for the Dell range and starts to aim these more at the professional, high end user. An optional X-rite i1 Display Pro colorimeter can also be included it seems. The panel also offers support for 1.07 billion colours (10-bit) although like the U2410 this is probably through an 8-bit + FRC panel as opposed to a full 10-bit module.

In terms of other specs the screen offers a 6ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio (2 million: 1 DCR), 350 cd/m2 brightness (max) / 50 cd/m2 brightness (min) and 178/178 viewing angles . The screen features an AH-IPS panel which operates at 60Hz refresh rate. The spec states the screen features an anti-glare coating, and let's hope this is as light as we saw on the recent 27 "U2713HM. The backlight is W-LED based and so given the rest of the spec (99% Adobe RGB etc ), it is very likely that this is using one of LG.Display 's newest generation of IPS panels which we announced in Feb 2012, most likely a variant of the LM240WU9 panel it seems.

The screen features DVI-D (HDCP), HDMI, DisplayPort 1.2 and mini-DisplayPort video connections. There is also an integrated 4 port USB 3.0 hub, with two located on the left hand edge of the screen as shown above. The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments as well which we have become accustomed to seeing on the UltraSharp models. The screen remains VESA compliant for wall-mounting as well if required. The OSD control buttons are touch-sensitive as well like they were on the U2410, but which were not included on more recent models like the U2412M.

On Dell's Chinese website the screen retails for the equivalent of ~ £ 549 GBP or $ 883 USD. These prices may well vary when the screen officially appears in other markets though.

As more information emerges from other countries we will keep this news piece up to date. We will of course feature a full review as soon as the screen is available.
