Meizu Outs Flyme Updates for MX and MX II

Just ahead of New Year's, Meizu rolled out updates to the Flyme system software and UI extension for its MX and MX II flagship smartphones. The original MX retains Flyme 1.1, which is updated to version 1.1.6, whereas the Flyme 2.0 running the MX II is updated to version 2.0.3. Flyme is a UI extension build over Android, it's similar to HTC's Sense.

The 117 MB Flyme 1.1.6 update package for the original Meizu MX "optimizes" battery charging, perhaps speeding it up. It also appears to update firmware of the phone's touchscreen controller, which makes it a better tactile feedback.

The 177 MB Flyme 2.0.3 package for the MX II, on the other hand, brings a longer list of changes:

Improved touchscreen responsiveness and sensitivity
Improves EAP-SIM support
Fixes problems in making calls when GPRS is active
Fixes problems related to shutting down the phone with an active USB connection
Changes vibration enabled in caller-profiles by default
Fixes an issue where videos recorded by turning the camera on from lock-screen don't play properly
Fixes a lock-screen issue where notifications aren't displayed correctly

Flyme 1.1.6 update for the original Meizu MX can be downloaded here, Flyme 2.0.3 for MX II can be downloaded here.

  1. Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my
newest twitter updates. I've been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.
