Sony Xperia Z Confirmed to Arrive in Finland on February 28 for €730/$975

Sony Xperia Z has just made its debut in Japan via major carrier NTT Docomo. Unfortunately, Europeans have been skipped from the initial launch and will have to wait a few more weeks until Xperia Z goes on sale.

The smartphone is scheduled to hit shelves in Finland on February 28, around the same time Xperia Z is slated for release in the UK.

However, customers who wish to pre-order the Xperia Z should know that this one won’t come cheap at all.

It appears that Gigantti and Verkkokauppa retailers accept pre-orders for the device for €740/$990 and €730/$975, respectively.

Keep in mind that while Gigantti promises all pre-orders for Sony Xperia Z will be shipped on February 28, Verkkokauppa claims it won’t be able to ship pre-orders until March.

It is also worth mentioning that these prices are subject to change so the smartphone might go a bit cheaper closer to launch.

Sadly, we’re not sure how many Xperia Z units Sony will be able to supply to Finnish customers, so it’s either pre-ordering now and pay a bigger price, or wait until it goes cheaper and risk not getting one at all.

Sony Xperia Z will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but the Japanese handset maker promised an Android 4.2 upgrade would be available soon after launch.

The phone is IP57 certified, dust and water resistant, and boasts a stunning 5-inch Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Hardware-wise, the Xperia Z comes equipped with a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.
