American Industrial Systems Reveals New Widescreen Multi-Touch Displays

American Industrial Systems (AIS), the first company to incorporate projected capacitive touch (PCT or PCAP) technology into their product offering, is pleased to announce the availability of its new family of industrial widescreen, multi-touch interactive HMI monitors and displays with Windows 7 operating system built-in. This new family of Industrial Flat Widescreen HMIs from AIS are fully-integrated, easy-to-use, plug-and-play, multi-touch monitors that are ideal for a myriad of industrial, processing and factory automation applications.

Thanks to the Projected Capacitive Sensor behind the AIS industrial flat panel widescreen, its independent and simultaneous dual touch capability provides a gesture-based HMI interface that allows interactions such as pan zoom and rotate. These popular user interactions commonly found in everyday consumer devices such as smart phones and tablets, make control and monitoring simple and more intuitive for users operating industrial HMIs.

The new AIS industrial, multi-touch interactive flat panel displays offer a true widescreen experience, with a 16:9 ratio at full 1920 x 1080 HD resolutions providing 40% more screen area than other 4:3 displays. Combining the latest in multi-capacitive touch screen technology in a sleek and robust TFT-LCD flat panel, the AIS widescreen multi-touch monitors carry a NEMA 4-4x IP65 for its aluminum front panel. The NEMA 4-4x IP65 ingress approval rating means the AIS widescreen multi-touch display is suitable for applications requiring a rugged and durable HMI design.

Designed for the most challenging and harshest industrial environments, AIS Industrial Multi-Touch Widescreen Displays will withstand extreme operating temperatures, vibration, dust and debris. Applications in industries such as food, beverage, chemical processing and oil and gas will benefit from the extremely rugged, industrial HMI multi-touch displays that AIS offers, as they can take the abuse of these environments day in and day out.

In addition, these new Windows 7 based, industrial multi-touch widescreen monitors can be directly connected to industrial processing machinery, control and automation systems. The interactive, multi-touch industrial flat panel series from AIS delivers tremendous flexibility in the range of various display sizes available and horizontal or vertical orientation options. AIS full range of industrial multi-touch, widescreen flat panel displays come standard in 15.6", 18.5" and 21.5" screen sizes. The new industrial display family also supports panel, wall or VESA arm mounting.

Nelson Tsay, President of American Industrial Systems, Inc. AIS, adds, "This is an example of the worlds of consumer and industrial engineering merging. Incorporating multi-touch technology, our new industrial monitors combine everyday gesture-based interactions and a true widescreen HD experience, with a sleek and rugged HMI made for the industrial environment."
