ASUS announces the Padfone Mini convertible phone + tablet


As widely anticipated, ASUS has today announced the latest addition to its Padfone line of convertible Android devices, the Padfone Mini. Like other Padfone products, the Padfone Mini comes in two parts — a 4.3-inch phone and a 7-inch tablet dock — meaning you can slot the former into the latter. This lets you use a single data plan for both tablet and phone mode, and charge the phone while it's docked in the tablet.

ASUS December 11 event will make the Padfone mini official


ASUS is preparing to officially launch the Padfone mini at a dedicated event in Taiwan on December 11. While the PadFone Infinity boasts a 10.1" tablet and a 5.0" smartphone, the Padfone mini is rumored to consist of a more compact 4.3" smartphone that slides into a 7" slate.

Asus has been busy rolling out audiophile grade headphone amplifiers this month. Back on October 17 Asus unveiled the Essence III featuring an audiophile grade USB DAC. Asus has now unveiled another audiophile grade headphone amplifier called the Xonar Essence STU. The Essence STU features a USB DAC.

ASUS Announces R9 280X, R9 270X, R7 260X DirectCU II Graphics Cards


ASUS today announced the launch of its R9 200 and R7 200 Series DirectCU II graphics cards, powered by the latest AMD Radeon R9 and R7 series graphics-processing units (GPUs). The new R9 280X, R9 270X and R7 260X graphics cards are brimming with exclusive ASUS technologies and tools including DirectCU II cooling technology for cooler and quieter gaming performance, DIGI+ voltage-regulator modules (VRMs) for smooth and stable power supply and GPU Tweak, an easy-to-use software for tuning the graphics card. The R9 280X, R9 270X and R7 260X are all ASUS TOP-rated graphics cards, meaning they are overclocked to perform faster than reference - respectively turning in core speeds of 1070MHz, 1120MHz and 1188MHz.

Asus RT-AC68U 1900 Mbps router hits pre-order


Back in June, Asus unveiled what it claims to be the world’s fastest Wi-Fi router. The router is the RT-AC68U and it’s capable of combined dual-band data rates as fast as 1900 Mbps. That gives the router three times faster performance than the typical 802.11n router on the market today according to Asus.
