Google's purpose-built Chromebook platform, could see a huge change with hardware specifications, with the company pushing its OEM partners (such as Dell, HP, Acer, etc.,) to develop Chromebooks running high-performance ARM SoCs, instead of Intel's chips. There's confirmation of at least one such Chromebook taking shape, which runs NVIDIA's Tegra 4 chip.

Acer C720 Chromebook taps Haswell and SSD for 8hr battery
It’s obviously a week for Chromebooks, with Acer’s new C720 Chromebook joining HP’s Chromebook11 offering cloud-centric mobile computing, this time at the even lower price of $249.99. Sticking with Intel’s x86 chips rather than the ARM-based processor in the HP machine revealed on Tuesday, the Acer C720 steps up to a Haswell-generation Celeron 2955U for better performance and battery life, with the promise of up to 8.5hrs of runtime despite being 30-percent thinner in your bag.

Dell launches 12, 14 inch Latitude 7000 series ultrabooks with Haswell
Dell has done as anticipated and rolled out the carpet for a couple of new laptops, the Dell Latitude 7000 12.5- and 14-inch ultrabooks. Inside, users will find Intel Haswell processors, with the laptops themselves looking very similar to many older models from Dell’s Latitude lineup. Acer C7 Chromebook Line Expanded for Education, Business Customers
Acer America today announced that it has expanded its line of Acer C7 Chromebook models for its commercial customers, including schools and businesses that need reliable, fast and affordable technology for their students and work forces. The two new models both have a fast 16GB Solid State Drives (SSDs), which enhance boot times and access to apps, as well as a 6-cell battery that delivers up to 6-hour battery life for all-day learning and productivity. Customers have the choice of two new models -- the Acer C710-2826 with 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and the Acer C710-2815 with 4GB DDR3 RAM.

Fujitsu burst on to the Ultrabook scene in earnest with the Lifebook UH75 last fall, and it's clearly bent on keeping our attention: it just launched an early sequel, the Lifebook UH90. The 14-inch portable is ever-so-slightly thinner than its ancestor at 15.5mm (0.61 inches) thick, but upgrades to an extra-dense 3,200 x 1,800, IGZO-based touchscreen.

Dell XPS 11 tackles Lenovo Yoga with bendy-flexy ultrabook
Dell is taking a low-key approach to Computex this year, with a key product to cut through rivals’ bloated ranges. This time around, it’s the Dell XPS 11, an 11-inch hybrid that’s fronted by a 2,560 x 1,440 touchscreen, and which can fold around fully to make it a tablet. In case you hadn’t spotted it already, it’s something of a riff on Lenovo’s IdeaPad Yoga 11 we played with last April.

Acer Aspire P3 convertible wants to replace your iPad and keyboard dock
Acer has revealed its latest ultrabook, the Aspire P3, throwing Windows 8 into a touchscreen convertible as part of the company’s renewed focus on touch devices. Packing an 11.6-inch HD IPS LCD display, Core i3 or i5 processors, and up to six hours of battery life into a 0.77-inch thick notebook, the Aspire P3 looks at first glance like a regular laptop but – with the screen section pulled forward in what’s effectively a keyboard dock – can be flipped into a slate.
