Nikon D610 FX-format HD-SLR brings 24 megapixels and Full HD video recording


Nikon has unveiled its new D610 DSLR, an FX-format digital camera that builds on the D600 model with some new features. Nikon says the model is aimed at photographers who are particular about the sharpness and color of their images, among other things, with the camera utilizing the maker’s various core technologies to ensure clarity. The model is slated to go on sale later this month with the body-only price of $1999.95 USD.

Nikon 1 AW1 unveiled as first rugged waterproof camera with interchangeable lenses


Nikon has announced what it says is the first-ever interchangeable lens camera that is also waterproof, able to be taken to depths of 15 meters. In addition, the camera has a rugged quality to it, being shockproof to drops from up to 2 meters, giving it an IPX8 equivalent rating. In the same vein, the camera also support what Nikon says is the fastest continuous shooting speed available at about 15 frames-per-second.

Nikon Coolpix L620 introduced with 18MP sensor and high-power zoom


In addition to the hinged LCD-harboring S6600 Coolpix that was announced earlier this evening, Nikon has also introduced its new Coolpix L620, a high-power zoom compact with 14x optical zoom and a backside-illuminated 18.1-megapixel CMOS sensor. The camera will be available in two different colors: black and a red wine type of color.

Nikon has introduce a new compact digital camera, the Coolpix S6600, which is the first in the S-series to feature a hinged LCD for multiple positions depending on the shooting situation.
