Samsung began production of high-speed memory chips


Samsung Electronics has started production of new embedded flash drives for smart phones and tablet computers, which is four times faster than its predecessors. Decisions Samsung EMMC Pro Class 1500 will be available in variations of 16 GB to 64 GB of memory and positioned by the manufacturer as "the fastest embedded memory chips."

Conservation depends on the speed of information processing speed, which is an important parameter for games and 3D-video. If sequential read speed for Samsung EMMC Pro Class in 1500 reaches 140 Mbit / s, write speed of 50 Mbit / s. The number of IO operations per second for random read IOPS is 3500 or 1500 IOPS for random writes.

According to Samsung, the flash drive weighs only 0.6 grams of eMMC. Assembling the memory chips will be conducted using 20-nm process. Volumes of production of the company did not specify. New solutions will be more economical with respect to energy consumption than previous models.
