French consumer electronics company Archos is introducing another Android tablet to join its line-up. It's the Archos 80 Cobalt tablet. Tipping the scales at 470g while measuring just 12mm thick, the tablet sports an 8-inch display with a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. The Archos 80 Cobalt is powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor with a quad-core GPU.
A new Smart Dock for the Samsung Galaxy Note II has surfaced, turning the stylus-toting smartphone into a mini desktop setup with plentiful connectivity for a display and wired peripherals. Listed at Samsung US 'site as well as at UK retailer Clove, the $ 99.99 accessory has three USB ports and a full-sized HDMI output, squirting up to 1080p Full HD onto a TV or monitor.
D-Link has announced the official launch of its Pocket Cloud Router DIR-506L aimed at people who are highly mobile. The router is the latest addition to the Cloud Router family of products providing an easy way to share digital content, and an Internet connection on the go. I-O Data has today unveiled three fresh additions to its HDCA-UT family of external hard drives. Offering 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB worth of storage space, the new offerings measure 39 (W) x 185 (D) x 120 (H) mm, they weight 1.1 kg and feature a fanless design, USB 3.0 connectivity, and an Eco mode for saving power while idle.
Like their predecessors, these models can be installed both vertically or horizontally and can be easily connected to TVs and camcorders for direct, PC-less use. They are backed by a one-year warranty and are coming out gradually - the 4 TB (~ $ 465) drive is already selling, while the 1 TB (~ $ 144) and 2 TB (~ $ 183) will debut in mid-November.
In addition to the three new HDCA-UT Series models, I-O Data has announced a couple more HDCA-U HDDs, 1 TB and 2 TB external hard drives boasting a USB 2.0 interface. Like their USB 3.0-capable cousins, the HDCA-U HDDs measure 39 (W) x 185 (D) x 120 (H) mm, they have a fanless design, they can be installed horizontally or vertically, and can be connected directly to HDTVs to record your favorite shows. They can also be hooked up to camcorders for some PC-free video / photo storing.
The new 1 TB and 2 TB HDCA-U drives cost about $ 133 and $ 173, respectively, and will be available in black and white as of mid-November.

Pantech has announced that it will be securing its next-generation Android smartphones and tablets using software from a security firm called Mocana. Mocana's VeloDAR solution will be used to integrate FIPS 140-2 certified encryption capability into new Pantech devices. The VeloDAR software protects data at rest on the internal memory of the Pantech smartphone.
The Lumia 920 Windows Phone 8 from Nokia will be available in select Rogers stores in Canada tomorrow. Indian company Zync Global Private Limited, makers of Zync tablets, has just announced the immediate availability of its first tablet that features a multi-touch HD display, the Z1000.
While the device may be old news for those living in the states, Barnes & Noble's NOOK Simple Touch is now available for those who live across the pond in the UK. The regular model, as well as the Glowlight model, are now available to purchase. Plus, the UK can now also pre-order the NOOK HD and the NOOK HD +, which is set to arrive late next month.
We already know what the 32GB version of the Nexus 7 will be priced at, thanks to an earlier report of the device showing up on Office Depot shelves. $ 250 will get the 32GB version, while the 16GB model will be $ 199. A second confirmation has just hit Walmart's website, where the retailer is showing the 32GB Nexus 7 as "in stock."
