The SDG4A is TDK's new line of solid-state drives for the enterprise market. The 2.5-inch devices come in capacities of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB.
The drives feature MLC NAND flash memory chips and a SATA 3 Gbit/s interface. TDK has used its own GBDriver RS4 chip, which should allow for speeds of 180 MByte/s and 130 MByte/s for respectively reading and writing. The drive supports 128-bits encryption, S.M.A.R.T., NCQ, ECC and Read-retry. A battery will handle the last instructions in the even of a power outage.

The SDG4A solid-state drives should be reliable under the most extreme conditions. The manufacturer claims that it can be used for four years non-stop without failures. Details on pricing and availability have not yet been revealed.
