Canon EOS M2 Officially Revealed, Ships Mid-December

Canon Japan officially announced the Canon EOS M2 confirming. The new Canon EOS M2 inherits the concept model of its predecessor packed in a smaller body size (104.9×65.2×31.6mm, 238g). The camera comes with an 18MP CMOS APS-C sensor powered by a DIGIC 5 processor capable of capturing up to 4.6 frames per second in continuous shooting mode.

Canon has announced that it’s offering a feature upgrade for its EOS C100 digital video camera. The feature upgrade is optional and allows owners of the C100 video camera to ship their camera back to Canon service and have the upgrade added after the purchase. The feature update adds dual pixel CMOS AF autofocus technology.

Nikon Df unveiled as a lightweight FX-format DSLR

Calling it a “modern classic,” Nikon has unveiled its new Df DSLR camera, a retro-designed FX-format shooter being targeted towards advanced photographers who need a lightweight FX-format camera. The design is built upon the foundation left by Nikon’s F series 35mm film cameras from days gone by, and is accompanied by technologies akin to that of the Nikon D4 DSLR.

Ricoh GR Limited Edition digital camera introduced with patterned design

In April, Pentax unveiled the Ricoh GR compact digital camera, something that it is releasing in a limited edition model with a production run of 5,000 units. Samsung Techwin, maker of security and surveillance devices, has unveiled the SmartCam HD PRO, a WiFi IP surveillance camera offering 1080p Full HD video recording and a 128-degree ultra-wide-angle lens. With the SmartCam HD, users will be able to remotely monitor various premises with a mobile device via an Android and iOS app.

Nikon 1 AW1 unveiled as first rugged waterproof camera with interchangeable lenses

Nikon has announced what it says is the first-ever interchangeable lens camera that is also waterproof, able to be taken to depths of 15 meters. In addition, the camera has a rugged quality to it, being shockproof to drops from up to 2 meters, giving it an IPX8 equivalent rating. In the same vein, the camera also support what Nikon says is the fastest continuous shooting speed available at about 15 frames-per-second.
