Samsung Galaxy S4 Active gets a Snapdragon 800 version

Samsung Galaxy S4 Active version with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset joined the “regular” SHV-E330S Galaxy S4 in SK-Telecom’s smartphone lineup in Korea. As expected, the smartphone comes with support for LTE-A networks (up to 150 Mbps).

Samsung to launch 1TB mSATA SSD this month

Samsung this evening announced it will launch the industry’s first 1-terabyte (1TB) mSATA SSD this month. That doubles the capacity (512GB) of some of the largest-capacity mSATA SSDs generally available today. As such, the 1TB 840 EVO mSATA SSD is poised to bring unprecedented large-capacity hard storage to some of the market’s thinnest portables.

Samsung announces Galaxy Win Pro mid-ranger

Having gone unannounced until now, the Samsung Galaxy Win Pro has popped up on the Korean manufacturer's China web portal today.

   

The Win Pro retains the midrange pedigree of its predecessor, the Galaxy Win, but to a lesser degree thanks to its 4.5-inch qHD display. This is a marked step up from the 4.7" WVGA display of the Galaxy Win.

Otherwise, the specifications are for the most part identical between the two devices: a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 5MP camera, and optional dual-SIM support. The battery has been bumped up by 100mAh to 2,100 mAh, and while there's no word on internal storage or RAM size, we assume they'll be in the same 8GB/1GB neighborhood as the Win.

Also, contrary to what the name may lead you to believe, the Galaxy Win Pro will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Samsung Galaxy J launching in Taiwan next week?

Introduced in Japan back in October alongside Sony’s Xperia Z1 f, the Samsung Galaxy J seems to be ready for a release in Taiwan.

Taiwanese media has received notice that Samsung would host an event on December 9 (next Monday), when a new and mysterious smartphone that’s “just arrived” is going to be showcased.

The smartphone – partially seen in the teaser image below – does resemble the Japanese Galaxy J, so ePrice believes that this is what Samsung is going to announce for the Taiwanese market. Last month, the Galaxy J was certified by authorities in Taiwan, so its launch would come at the right time.

Specs-wise, the Galaxy J can be considered a slightly upgraded Galaxy S4. It’s offering a 5 inch Full HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 13MP rear camera.

We still don’t have any idea if Samsung intends to release the Galaxy J in more countries. But we’ll let you know when we find out.
