Today, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia made its Windows Phone 8-based Nokia Lumia 720 smartphone official with a sleek and stylish design, aimed at young and design-savvy people with busy social lives.
The handset was launched as a mid-range device, capable of delivering great performance at a reduced price point, while also offering a great camera experience and battery life in a slim body, with a weight of only 128 grams.

The new device was made official with a 1.0 GHz MSM8227 processor inside, a 4.3-inch ClearBlack WVGA LCD display on the front, and 512 MB of RAM.
Furthermore, the smartphone packs 8GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, and a 2,000 mAh battery, with wireless charging capabilities.
The new Nokia Lumia 720 sports a 6.7-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with auto-focus, LED flash and HD 720p @ at 30 fps video recording capabilities.
There is also a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper on the front, capable of delivering Skype HD wide angle video calling, Nokia claims.
“The main camera has an incredible f/1.9 aperture – that’s bigger than almost any high-end smartphone out there,” a recent post on Nokia Conversations reads.
“A big aperture means more light getting into the camera and when this is combined with the same exclusive Carl Zeiss optics normally reserved for flagship smartphones, it packs quite a punch. The pictures it takes are clear and bright in lowlight, and dazzling in daylight.”
Lumia 720 comes with the same camera as the Lumia 920, while also featuring NFC capabilities, along with A-GPS and GLONASS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Accelerometer, Proximity, Magnetometer, and more. The handset will offer support for HSPA+ 21 Mbps, (Cat 14).
“The Lumia 720 will be available from about €249 ($329) before VAT, rolling out from March 2013 and is available in red, white, cyan, black and yellow. The Lumia 720 will be introduced to China in a TD SCDMA variant – bringing this smartphone to the world’s biggest market with the world’s biggest mobile operator,” Nokia announced.
