The Sony Xperia L will become available in the UK, SIM-free and unlocked, on May 15 – so in just a couple of days. And a bit later than expected. This device was announced in mid-March alongside the Xperia SP, and now it’s finally ready to go on sale, at least in the UK.
You can already pre-order an Xperia L from Clove, a well known UK-based online retailer. That’s also where the Xperia L is expected to be in stock on Wednesday. If you’re interested in picking up a Sony Xperia L from Clove, you’ll need to pay £228 for the privilege. If you order now, your Xperia L will be delivered out of the very first batch which arrives on May 15.

The Sony Xperia L has a 4.3-inch 480×854 touchscreen, an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, a VGA front camera, a 1 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, all the usual connectivity options, and a 1,750 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
So the Xperia L is clearly no high-end offering. In this day and age, it qualifies as a lower-midrange phone, but it’s one that comes with a pretty decent price too.
