The BlackBerry Q10 will finally be up for grabs at Sprint starting on August 30. That’s this Friday, and this sure has been a long time coming. The Q10 is already being sold by Verizon and AT&T, and now Sprint is joining in.
The August 30 release date has been leaked about a month ago, and that leak was accurate indeed. The smartphone will cost you $199.99 with a new two-year contract over at Sprint. That’s the standard pricing for high-end devices nowadays.

The BlackBerry Q10 is the Canadian company’s first device that runs the new BlackBerry OS 10 and features the traditional BlackBerry form factor – candybar with full physical QWERTY keyboard underneath the screen. Thus, it’s sure to appeal to those who are still in love with this particular shape.
Also at Sprint, a couple of Windows Phones have seen their prices slashed dramatically. It wasn’t that long ago that the Now Network announced its first two handsets running Windows Phone 8 – the HTC 8XT and the Samsung Ativ S Neo. And now both are $100 cheaper than they’ve been so far. That’s pretty remarkable, considering that the Samsung Ativ S Neo has only been on sale at the carrier for ten days.
It started out costing $149.99 (after a $50 mail-in rebate) with the obligatory two-year contract, but now you can buy one for just $49.99 (still after a $50 mail-in rebate, though). The HTC 8XT, which has been on the market longer, is even cheaper. You can get one for $0.00 after a $50 mail-in rebate. The 8XT used to be priced at $99.99, so that’s a significant price drop too.
This probably means that the two Windows Phones mentioned above really aren’t doing that well at Sprint in terms of sales. It’s very rare to see carriers themselves cutting prices like this so soon after release. But, if you like Microsoft’s new mobile platform, you can jump on the bandwagon now for a lot less than yesterday.
