After Huawei released its first Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the time was for Android handsets. The company unveiled two new Android smartphones. The first one is a 6.1-inch Ascend Mate, while the other is a 5-inch Ascend D2.
The Ascend Mate uses an IPS 1080p display powered by the company's own Hi-Silicon 1.5 GHz quad-core processor. The downside of this handset is its battery as it has been paired with a 4,050mAh battery. Among the other features, there are dual WiFi receivers, an 8.1-megapixel rear-facing camera. This 6.1-inch Android 4.1 handset ships for yet an undisclosed price to China in February and in March to other countries.

Its smaller brother, a 5-inch Ascend D2 smartphone, is powered by Qualcomm's 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor. It comes as water and dust proof, featuring 1080 x 1920 display with yet to-be-announced GPU. There is total 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage which should be more than enough. The rest of the specs include a 13-megapixel front-facing with a 1.3-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p video recording, LTE connectivity and a 3000 mAh. The Huawei Ascend D2 will head to China in January, but is unknown when will be available in other countries.
