Today, Japanese mobile phone maker NTT DOCOMO went official with its Spring 2013 lineup of devices, and announced no less than 12 of them, 11 of which are smartphones and tablets, complemented by a mobile Wi-Fi router.
These devices are expected to become available for purchase at the wireless carrier starting with January 25, and will bring along a variety of upgraded features when compared to the carrier’s 2012 winter lineup.

NTT DOCOMO’s customers will soon be able to take advantage of the benefits of full HD touchscreen smartphones such as the Xperia Z or the LG Optimus G Pro, along with the performance capabilities of models powered by quad-core processors.
Furthermore, the carrier announced that the new models would land on shelves with support for its DOCOMO's Xi (“crossy”) LTE service, which should deliver great download and upload speeds to all users (it can reach 112.5 Mbps on the downlink in some areas).
Additionally, the carrier stressed on the fact that its new devices land on shelves with larger batteries, – of 2,000 mAh or more – which should result in longer usage times for its customers.
The list of new devices at NTT DOCOMO includes the AQUOS PHONE EX SH-04E, MEDIAS X N-04E, ELUGA X P-02E, XPERIA Z SO-02E, ARROWS X F-02E, Ascend D2 HW-03E, Optimus G Pro L-04E, MEDIAS W N-05E, Xperia Tablet Z SO-03E, dtab, Smartphone for Juniors SH-05E, and Mobile Wi-Fi router HW-02E.
In addition to these devices, the operator announced the docomo Smart Home initiative, which is aimed at enabling users to share videos, music and other content much easier than before between their handsets and home electronics.
As part of this initiative, the new spring lineup offers the ‘dtab,’ a Wi-Fi-dedicated tablet with special features for DOCOMO services such as the dmarket portal, and the ‘SmartTV dstick,’ a small flash drive-like HDMI device for enjoying movies and animation from dmarket, etc. on large-screen televisions.
Furthermore, NTT DOCOMO announced that a new set of functions had been added to the Twonky Beam app, through which smartphones can play full HD digital-terrestrial and broadcast-satellite programs that are stored on Blu-ray recording devices at users’ home.
