While Microsoft’s very own Surface RT is made of vapor magnesium to withstand very severe hits, Panasonic’s Toughpad FZ-G1 is the kind of device that has the power to deal with drops, rain and dust.
Specs-wise, the tablet hides a 1.9GHz Intel Core i5-3437U processor, 4GB of RAM, an SSD with either 128GB or 256GB of storage space, USB 3.0, HDMI, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity. In addition, the device can be equipped with 4G LTE or 3G connectivity for cellular coverage.
The battery can provide an autonomy of approximately 8 hours with a fully charged battery, but the ace up its sleeve is that owners are allowed to physically replace the battery on the go.
The tablet will go on sale next month, with pricing to begin at $2,899 (€2,200).
