MSI has announced a Radeon HD 7970 Lightning Boost Edition



MSi updated in March, its already powerful video card R7970 Lightning, then in June, the company introduced a version of Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition. In the end, the company decided to combine cost R7970 Lightning with a new "Tahiti XT2" Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition ASIC and established R7970 Lightning Boost Edition (BE).



While the original version of the R7970 Lightning works at 1070/5600 MHz, the new, just announced R7970 Lightning BE offers GPU frequency 1070 MHz (core frequency) and 1150 MHz (mode PowerTune Boost), and memory - 6.00 GHz (288 Gb / s). The board has 3 GB of memory with 384-bit bus.


Most of the features that has the original Lighting and moved here. R7970 Lightning BE has 17-phase VRM, Dual BIOS, allows you to delve into the voltage settings by module and uses the GPU Reactor cooling system TwinFrozr IV. Overall - a cool piece of hardware in all respects.


Truth is the fly in the ointment. MSI somehow not guess again add a connection socket DL-DVI. Instead, the board is equipped with two SL-DVI and four mini-DisplayPort.

The cost of the new R7970 Lightning BE will be 499.99 dollars.
