Nokia is launching an interesting product today for its line of Lumia Windows Phones. Dubbed Nokia Xpress, the app functions as a browser that takes advantage of data compression techniques, cutting down on bandwidth usage by up to 90%.
The Xpress Cloud features hooks Bing searches in with YouTube and Wikipedia, and you can save pages for offline reading, as well as download (or upload, perhaps) images and video to a SkyDrive account for future access. There's also a nice bookmarks feature called Quick Links.
Bandwidth saving comes in the form of an algorithm that downsamples images, or just doesn't load them at all, depending on how "important" they are to the content. This can be adjusted from within the app as well.
