The original model, which was never released in Europe, was based on an AMD processor, combined with the Linux Mint OS. It had two USB 3.0 connectors, as well as 2x USB 2.0, two eSATA ports, HDMI and DisplayPort. 7.1-audio was also present, with an S/PDIF output.
The MintBox 2 runs on Linux Mint 15 'Olivia' and is equipped with a passively cooled Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB of memory and a 500 GB hard drive. Two Gigabit LAN connectors and a number of USB-ports are present on the device. The MintBox 2 has dimensions of 190 x 160 x 40 mm and has a metal enclosure which assists in cooling the system. The MintBox 2 is already available through the German Amazon at a recommended price of $599.
