New LG G Pad 8.3 with Android Jelly Bean fully unveiled

Today it’s been properly announced: it’s the G Pad 8.3 – LG’s third Android tablet (coming after the 2011 Optimus Pad, and the 2012 Optimus Pad LTE).

Apparently, the G Pad 8.3 is the world’s “first 8-inch class tablet to offer a Full HD display” (1920 x 1200 pixels). It runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and further features: LTE, QSlide, Slide Aside (“enables seamless multitasking by simply sliding currently open apps off to the side using a three-finger swipe”), KnockON (“turns the device on and off by tapping the display twice”), 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.

The new LG tablet weighs 338 grams, measures 216.8 x 126.5 x 8.3 mm, and comes with a 4,600 mAh battery.

“Complementing our G Series smartphones, the introduction of the LG G Pad 8.3 further strengthens LG’s premium lineup consisting of our most cutting-edge devices. Our G Pad is just another example of LG delivering devices with the unique selling points consumers around the world will appreciate,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

The LG G Pad 8.3 will be showcased next week at IFA 2013 in Berlin. It will be available globally (in “key markets”) in two color versions: black and white. North America, Europe and Asia will certainly get it. At the moment, we don’t know how much the G Pad 8.3 will cost.
