iPad Mini with Retina Display now available to order at T-Mobile, $0 upfront

T-Mobile has started taking orders for the new iPad Mini with Retina Display. This tablet was announced last month alongside the iPad Air, and it’s been available at Apple for a few days now.

Obviously you can buy from there, but if you want to get the Wi-Fi+4G version of the new iPad Mini, you’re probably best served by going directly to a carrier – since you’ll need some form of service.

At T-Mobile, you don’t have to pay anything upfront for the 16 GB version of the iPad Mini with Retina Display. However, to compensate for that you’ll need to shell out $22.08 each month for two years. That works out at $529.92, which is in line with Apple’s pricing of this model. Yet obviously you have the advantage of not having to pay full price when you get the tablet.

If you’d rather have the 32 GB new Mini, you’ll still pay the same monthly amount for two years, but you’ll also have to put down $99.99. In the case of the 64 GB model, the upfront cost is $199.99, while for the 128 GB version it’s $299.99. The installments remain the same across all options.

T-Mobile lets you cancel wireless service at any time, but when you do the remaining balance on the device becomes due. There’s still no shipping date attached to the iPad Mini with Retina Display, and the magenta carrier has warned that its initial stock will be extremely limited. Orders will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis so if you want to get one of these tablets from T-Mobile you’d better act fast.
