Moto X now starts at $0.01 (for Sprint) or $49.99 (for Verizon and AT&T)

As the holidays are fast approaching, we’re slowly starting to see some good deals on smartphones. Take for example the Moto X. The handset may have been out of the spotlight recently thanks to the launch of its less capable sibling, the Moto G, but it’s still a very decent device. And now it can be yours for as little as one cent ($0.01).

That is, if you’re willing to sign a new two-year contract with Sprint and purchase the smartphone from Amazon and not the Now Network itself. You’re missing out on the MotoMaker customization options, but you are getting the X essentially for free. The price applies to new contracts and added lines. If you want to upgrade an existing device you need to pay $49.99.

If you’d rather use the new Moto X on Verizon, the lowest price right now is $49.99 with a two-year service agreement. This is even available at Big Red itself, so you can use MotoMaker and still get it at that price – though this offer expires on November 18. Fret not though, for Amazon has it at the exact same price (yet sans MotoMaker). This price applies to both new customers as well as upgraders.

The situation regarding AT&T’s Moto X is similar to Verizon’s in terms of pricing. That device too can be had for just $49.99, yet only at Amazon. Like in Verizon’s case, the price applies to all possible contract variation
