Toshiba Rolls Out WT310 Business Tablet

For those sold on the idea of Windows 8 providing for a decent user interface for touch-based devices, and feel limited with the connectivity options of the Surface Pro, Toshiba unveiled a 'business-class' option, the WT310. Measuring 229 x 189 x 12.4 mm, and weighing 825 g, the Wintel tablet gives you a combination of enterprise features from Windows 8 Pro, and those inherent to Intel platform, such as Anti-theft technology, a Trusted Platform Module (TPM), and Active Management Technology, which work to ensure your data doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

The WT310 from Toshiba is a 11.6-inch tablet, featuring a touchscreen display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. A digitizer pen comes included, letting you jot down notes at the first tap of the pen. The tablet is driven by an Ultrabook-grade Intel platform, featuring a low-power Core "Ivy Bridge" dual-core processor, 4 or 8 GB of RAM, and various SSD-based storage options.

The WT310 packs a blend of PC and tablet interfaces, including 4G LTE, 802.11 b/g/n WLAN, Bluetooth 4.0, Intel WiDi wireless display output technology, HDMI display output, an SDXC card slot, and a USB 3.0 SuperSpeed port. Toshiba is also offering a docking station, which expands connectivity. The tablet is powered by a 3,460 mAh battery, although the company didn't touch upon the typical battery life.

The WT310 will launch first in the UK, some time before July.
