Panasonic already has a couple of new ones out, one of them bearing the name of Lumix DMC-LF1.

It won't be on par with high-end cameras that have ISO of several tens of thousands, but it is a good number for a 12-MP model (1/1.7-inch Large 12.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS Sensor and Venus Engine).
This is, after all, a compact camera that places emphasis on portability and ease of use, not raw performance.

All in all, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LF1 definitely offers enough for people to buy it, even if they do have a smartphone. Phones have come a long way, but their own, tiny integrated cameras can't compete with the real thing.
Sadly, though Panasonic has officially introduced the newcomer, it did not set an arrival date for store shipments. The price will be of around $500 / €385 – 500.
