Today, Samsung has issued a press release announcing two new handsets: Galaxy Star and Galaxy Pocket Neo, both of which have been previously showcased by the company in Africa.
The two smartphones run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and will be really cheap – unfortunately, Samsung has still not revealed their exact prices, and neither when customers will be able to buy them.

In any case, the Galaxy Pocket Neo features: a 3 inch QVGA (320 x 240) display, HSDPA, Dual SIM Always On (optional), Intelligent Motion UI (including “Shake to update” and “Turn over to mute”), Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm headset jack, GPS with Glonass, Samsung ChatOn, 2MP rear camera, 4GB of internal memory, 850 MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, MicroSD card support (up to 32GB), and a 1,200 mAh battery. The handset weighs 100.5 grams, and measures 104.95 x 58 x 11.9 mm.
The Galaxy Star isn’t too different from the Pocket Neo. However, it doesn’t have HSDPA connectivity, and neither GPS. Instead, its processor is a 1GHz unit.
It is probably safe to assume that Samsung will sell lots of Galaxy Pocket Ne and Galaxy Star units in emerging markets around the world.
Later this week, Samsung might unveil another new Jelly Bean smartphone, namely the Galaxy S4 Mini. We’ll let you know when it happens.
