RIM has announced that it plans to hold a BlackBerry 10 launch event on January 30th. In a company blog post, RIM says the event will take place simultaneously around the world and the company is promising additional details of the first BlackBerry 10 smartphones and their launch dates. RIM has previously detailed some improvements in its latest BlackBerry OS, including a new hub, a way to separate work and personal spaces, and an improved software keyboard.
The company has seeded development devices to app makers over the past several months and is widely expected to release BlackBerry 10 devices in the first quarter of 2013. Previously leaked devices suggest that the company is preparing to release L-and N-Series devices. The L-series is reportedly an all-touch smartphone, while the N-series comes complete with the classic QWERTY keyboard found on BlackBerry devices.
