Although it was the very first Windows Phone 8 handset to be officially unveiled to the world, Samsung's ATIV S smartphone appears to be the last to arrive on shelves.
The Samsung ATIV S is already available for pre-order in the country, with contract agreements with wireless carrier Vodafone UK, though being sold via partner retailer Phones4U.
The company lists the Windows Phone 8 smartphone on its website as available for free on the £ 33 per month plan, with 500MB of monthly mobile data and 2GB of WiFi data. For a £ 34 per month plan, however, users will grab the phone for £ 29.99.
Users interested in the new device will find it listed on the retailer's website on this page, with all the pricing options next to it and with a delivery date of December 21.
The Samsung ATIV S was made official with a large 4.8 "super AMOLED HD (720 x 1280 pixel) screen on the front, as well as with a powerful 1.5GHz dual-core processor packed inside.
The phone also sports 1GB of RAM, as well as 16/32 GB of internal memory options, and a MicroSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.
On the back, the handset features an 8-megapixel photo snapper with support for full HD video recording, complemented by a 1.9 MP camera on the front for making video calls.
The smartphone also sports HSDPA, 42 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Bluetooth, NFC, microUSB, GPS receiver, and the like.
And there is also support for various services and apps available for Windows Phone. "Couple this with a wealth of multimedia chops and the ATIV S shapes up well when it comes to devouring digital content," Phones4U notes.
