Lenovo readies X1 Carbon with touchscreen and Windows 8

Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Carbon, 14-inch business Ultrabook with a reasonable resolution, decent performance, and the familiar ThinkPad keyboard. The device featured Microsoft's Windows 7 Professional operating system, and did not have a touchscreen.

The manufacturer now introduces the X1 Carbon Touch, an alternative system for users that wish to use Microsoft's latest operating system. The new model has a touchscreen and comes with Windows 8 pre-installed. Lenovo hasn't revealed any additional specifications, but we're quite certain they will be similar to the other model. This would mean that the device still runs on an Ivy Bridge Core i5 processor (with vPro support), and that the 14-inch screen has a 1600x900 pixel resolution.

Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch will be released in December. As of yet, no information is available on pricing and availability of the system.
