Dell has introduced a new 23-inch touchscreen monitor with IPS-panel. The screen is capable of registering 10-finger input, has a 1920x1080 pixel resolution and, according to Dell, is fully compatible with Windows 8.
The monitor can be tilted between -10 and +10 degrees. It can also be laid completely flat. Dell has specified bidirectional viewing angles of 178 degrees, an 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio and LED-backlight.

The S2340T has an integrated camera, microphone and two 5 W speakers. A USB 3.0 cable is bundled to connect it with systems for audio and video capabilities. There are also ports for HDMI, DisplayPort and Ethernet.
Although the exact power consumption is unknown, Dell claims that the screen is very efficient and compliant to the ENERGY STAR and EPEAT Silver guidelines. Because of its touch panel, the screen is quite a bit more expensive than its counterparts. Dell has specified a recommended price of € 659 (£ 530).
