Vodafone Brings Xperia TX to Australia on November 28

Today, Australian mobile phone carrier Vodafone officially announced the upcoming availability of the Sony Xperia TX smartphone on its network starting with November 28.

The new device, called the Bond Phone, as it was used by James Bond in the new "Skyfall" movie, will be available in the country exclusively on the network of this wireless carrier.

The smartphone will be accompanied by various great offers from the operator, and will be launched at $ 0 upfront on Vodafone's $ 50 Plan, over 24 months (total min cost $ 1,200).

The new mobile phone arrives on shelves with a 4.6-inch HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, complemented by a dual-core A15 processor, which should provide users with great performance capabilities.

"Designed for 007; the Sony Xperia TX is perfect for the discerning customer, with looks to kill and loaded with impressive features. We're excited to be bringing our customers the official phone of James Bond, "Katie Turkal, general manager of devices at Vodafone, said.

Sony's handset also sports a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording, as well as a front camera for making video calls.

In addition to support for Vodafone's 3G network, the smartphone also comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as with built-in GPS receiver.

Xperia TX runs under Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, but also sports Sony media applications such as WALKMAN, Album and Movies.

Furthermore, the Sony Xperia TX will be accompanied by the Vodafone Network Guarantee, which allows postpaid customers to get a new smartphone on the carrier's plans and return it within 30 days if they are not happy with it.

"Vodafone's Network Guarantee supports more than 22 months of network improvements and upgrades including the roll-out of the new Vodafone 3G + network, in selected metropolitan areas, delivering increased download speeds up to 8Mbps per second on 60 per cent of the Vodafone network," the company notes.

At the same time, Vodafone reiterated plans to start rolling out its 4G LTE network in Australia in 2013 in selected major metro areas.
