BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9981 Up for Sale in the UK

The premium BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9981 is now available for purchase in the UK, unlocked and SIM free. In addition, a new official software update is available for download for the expensive BlackBerry smartphone.

One of the most expensive smartphones ever launched by RIM (Research In Motion), the exquisite device is the result of the collaboration between the Canadian handset maker and Porsche Design.

BlackBerry fans who can afford it can now purchase the Porsche Design P'9981 for a whopping suggested retail price of 1,210 GBP (1,510 USD or 1935 EUR) outright via Expansys UK.

The authorized reseller currently has 11 units in stock and offers free shipping. Customers who purchase the BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9981 are likely to receive it within 2-5 days if they choose the free shipping option. Check it out here.

BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9981 was launched last year in December, but the smartphone was only available in some countries where RIM thought it would sell pretty well.

The smartphone was released with BlackBerry 7.0 OS out of the box and a 1.2 GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon processor out of the box.

Furthermore, the BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9981 is equipped with an Adreno 205 graphics processing unit, 768MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

The phone's 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports 640 x 480 pixels resolution and 16 million colors. There's also a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording.

Other highlights of the exquisite BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9981 include: HSDPA (14.4Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps), along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, microUSB and NFC (Near Field Communication) connectivity.

According to RIM, the phone's 1230 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide up to 348 hours of standby time or up to 5.5 hours of talk time.
