Each year in May Vodafone launches a new own-brand smartphone called Smart. At least that’s been the case for the past two years, and here we are in May and there’s a new Vodafone Smart up for purchase. Following in the footsteps of the original Smart from 2011 and the Smart II from last year, the Vodafone Smart III is cheap. And that’s almost certainly going to be its main appeal.
The Smart III has a 4-inch 480×800 touchscreen, a 5 MP camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, a 1 GHz single-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and all the usual connectivity options. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The Vodafone Smart III can be yours right now for just £95 on Pay as you go. Alternatively, you can get it for free if you get a 24-month contract. The cheapest option is £13 per month and offers you 100 minutes, unlimited texts, and 100 MB of mobile data. Obviously you can pair the Smart III with many other plans, but you’re probably not going to use it too much anyway since it’s not the highest-end device out there. Not even a midranger. For this day and age, this is a low-end offering, but one that will suit many (perhaps as a second handset) just fine.
If you’re interested in getting a Smart III, head over here at Vodafone right now.
