AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Confirm GALAXY S 4’s Launch

Soon after the official unveiling of Samsung’s new GALAXY S 4 smartphone, wireless carriers in the United States rushed to confirm its upcoming availability on their networks.

No specific release date has been provided as of now, yet the device might arrive in the US as soon as next month, since Samsung has already confirmed that it would be released in late April.

In the US, the phone will be launched through all four major wireless carriers, namely AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon, as well as via US Cellular and Cricket.

AT&T was among the first to announce plans to add the new device to its offering, and has already published a sign-up page for users interested in being kept in the loop with the phone’s arrival.

“AT&T was the first to deliver Samsung’s Galaxy series and we are excited to bring the Galaxy S4 to the nation’s fastest 4G LTE network,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices, AT&T.

Sprint also announced the arrival of the new phone on its 4G LTE network starting with the second quarter of the tear, but it did not offer info on pricing, or a specific release date.

“Sprint is excited to bring the benefit of Truly Unlimited 4G LTE data to the U.S. variant of Galaxy S 4 in the second quarter of this year,” Fared Adib, senior vice president, Product Development at Sprint, said.

T-Mobile too published a Galaxy S 4 sign-up page on its website, also confirming that the upcoming device would feature support for its 4G LTE network.

Verizon announced the upcoming availability of the smartphone via Twitter, without offering further details on the device. US Cellular opted for a similar announcement as well.

GALAXY S 4 will hit shelves with a 5-inch full HD screen, a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, 2MP front camera, and 2GB of RAM, and might hit the US market with a 1.9 GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor inside, and not with the 1.6 GHz octa-core CPU from Samsung.

Running under Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, it will also sport a wide range of new features inside, such as Dual Camera, Smart Scroll, Smart Pause, S Voice Drive, Air View, S Health, and more.
