LG OPTIMUS L5II BEGINS GLOBAL ROLLOUT

Shortly after releasing the Optimus L3 II and Optimus L7 II, today LG has announced the global roll-out of its third new L-Series smartphone, namely the Optimus L5 II.

Obviously positioned between the L3 and L7, the Optimus L5 II comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a 4 inch WVGA display, QuickMemo, HSPA, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, 1GHz single-core processor, and MicroSD card support. The handset is 9.2mm thin, and includes a 1,700 mAh battery.

There is a dual SIM Optimus L5 II that seems to look a bit different from the single SIM edition (see the white vs. black L5 II in the photo below).

The dual SIM Optimus L5 II will be introduced in Brazil first. Shortly after that, both editions of the smartphone will be released in other Latin American markets, as well as in Europe, Asia and Africa. Available colors will include Black, Titan, White, and Pink.

LG did not say how much the Optimus L5 II costs. It shouldn’t be over €200 – since the more capable Optimus L7 II is priced at €250.

“The Optimus L5 II will offer consumers another great option among devices in the premium 3G market. We believe that the Optimus L5 II will prove to be irresistible to people looking for a feature-rich smartphone that complements their unique and individual styles”, declared Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
