Lenovo K900 will be released on April 17, may cost around $483

The Lenovo K900 is going to be the first smartphone to have both an Intel processor as well as a 1080p Full HD touchscreen. Furthermore, it uses the Intel Atom Z2580 Clover Trail+ chipset, which is currently Intel’s most advanced mobile offering. The K900 may in fact turn out to be the first device on the market to sport this processor, a dual-core 2 GHz part.

The K900 was announced in January, and now we get some purported leaked details about its release time frame and pricing. Apparently the Lenovo K900′s production has already begun, and it will be in stores in China on April 17. This fits with what we previously heard, namely that the handset would be out in April.

As for pricing, according to MyDrivers that’s not been finalized yet, but early indications speak about 2,999 yuan being chosen. That amounts to $483, €371, or £325 at the current exchange rates. This sort of makes sense, since basically all the high-end Chinese phones are sold for around $450-$550, and Lenovo clearly doesn’t want to be outside of that bracket. But things may still change regarding pricing, so stay tuned.

The K900 is so far the best-specced device ever to come with an Intel processor. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, a 13 MP rear camera, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and it runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It’s just 6.9 mm thick.
