LG Optimus LTE III with Android Jelly Bean announced

LG has officially unveiled the Optimus LTE III (model number F260S), a new smartphone that was first seen about a week ago. The handset obviously comes as the successor to the older Optimus LTE and Optimus LTE II.

The Optimus LTE III was announced in South Korea this morning, and SK Telecom will launch it there, apparently starting tomorrow, March 8.

While the new smartphone looks a bit different from the Optimus LTE II, it has about the same overall size (131.7 x 68.2 x 9.6 mm), as it sports a similar 4.7 inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels. That aside, the device comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, 8MP rear camera with 1080p video recording and LED flash, 1.3MP front-facing camera, dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor, Adreno 225 GPU, 2GB of RAM, MicroSD card support (up to 32GB), and a 2,540 mAh battery.

As you can see in the official press image below, the LG Optimus LTE III has two color versions: white and black.

The Optimus LTE III strongly resembles the Optimus F7 (introduced by LG last month), and also has a similar set of specs – so it can be seen just as a rebranded F7 for Korea.
