Samsung GALAXY S 4 Priced at $580/€450 in the US

Samsung officially introduced its next flagship smartphone earlier last week and stated that the Galaxy S 4 would arrive in select markets at the end of April / early May.

Unfortunately, JK Shin, Samsung CEO, did not offer any details regarding the phone’s pricing options.

However, some European retailers already have the Galaxy S 4 on pre-order for prices between €600/$775 and €700/$900 off contract.

The South Korean company plans to launch multiple versions of Galaxy S 4. For example, the international variant will be equipped with Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa chipset that packs two quad-core processors.

In the United States, the handset maker will launch a different Galaxy S 4 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset inside that packs a 1.9 GHz quad-core processor.

The US version of Galaxy S 4 might be a bit cheaper than the European version, as the folks over at Ibtimes have just learned that Samsung USA is running a giveaway and that prizes consist of Galaxy S 4 devices.

According to the giveaway’s official rules, each Samsung Galaxy S 4 is valued at approximately $579/€450 outright.

“First Prizes: 48 First Prizes will be awarded, each consisting of a Samsung Galaxy S 4 mobile device. Approximate Retail Value (‘ARV’): $579.
Grand Prizes: 4 Grand Prizes will be awarded, each consisting of one (1) Samsung Galaxy S 4 mobile device and one (1) 55" Samsung Smart TV. ARV: $2,679.”

Given the fact that Samsung has announced that three Galaxy S 4 models will be available on the market (16GB, 32GB and 64GB), the devices the company plans to give away are likely packed with only 16GB internal memory.

It is also worth mentioning that the Galaxy S 4’s price is most likely before taxes, which are usually added to the point of sale. All in all, at least we now know the approximate price of the 16GB Galaxy S 4 until more details emerge.
