BlackBerry Z10 Goes Official in Australia

Today, Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry officially confirmed the upcoming availability of the new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone on the Australian market.

The new device will arrive on shelves at various wireless carriers and retailers in the country, the company announced, confirming that Optus and Telstra would add it to their offerings starting with March 25 and March 26, respectively.

Furthermore, the handset vendor announced that the smartphone would be released via retailers such as Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi and Fone Zone.

The new smartphone will arrive in the country with support for 4G LTE networks there, while capable of providing users with an appealing new mobile experience, courtesy of the revamped BlackBerry 10 operating system.

“We are confident that Australians will love the new BlackBerry Z10, running on the new BlackBerry 10 platform, because it offers users something they will have never experienced before,” said Thorsten Heins, president & CEO, BlackBerry, in Australia for the launch.

“This revolutionary new platform continuously adapts to you. Every feature, every gesture, and every detail is designed to keep you moving, whether at work or at play.”

The BlackBerry Z10 smartphone was designed with a 1.5GHz processor inside, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, as well as with a microSD memory card slot for expanding purposes.

Furthermore, the handset sports a 4.2-inch touchscreen display, along with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and a front camera for making video calls.

The new BlackBerry Z10 also sports all the connectivity capabilities that can be found inside today’s high-end smartphones, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, micro HDMI out port, and the aforementioned 4G LTE.

“BlackBerry 10 is a robust and reliable platform that is smooth and responsive. It has a modern design and a gesture-based interface that is highly discoverable. It is designed to support, learn, and adapt to the way you work and share,” the handset vendor said.
