Samsung Galaxy S4 launching at T-Mobile USA on May 1

Apple’s iPhone 5 isn’t the only high-end LTE-capable smartphone that’s coming to T-Mobile USA soon. The Galaxy S4 will be also released by the fourth largest US mobile carrier. Of course, we already knew this would happen. But now T-Mobile has unveiled an exact launch date for the S4: May 1.

T-Mo is the first US mobile operator to say when it’s launching the Galaxy S4. Verizon, AT&T and Sprint should follow shortly.

Like the iPhone 5, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available at T-Mobile for a downpayment of $99, with monthly payments of $20 for two years.

Officially announced by Samsung earlier this month, the Galayx S4 is the company’s 2013 flagship smartphone. T-Mobile’s version will not have an Exynos 5 Octa processor, but a quad-core 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 one. That aside, the new Galaxy offers Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a 5 inch Super AMOLED Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, 13MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, and a 2,600 mAh battery. Interested customers can pre-register for T-Mobile’s Galaxy S4 here.

Other two LTE handsets that will be in T-Mobile USA’s line-up are the BlackBerry Z10 and HTC One. At the moment there is no word on how much these are going to cost – but pricing should be similar to the prices of iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4.
