Although the price might seem high, users should keep in mind that the phone is not being offered through Sony’s official channels in the US, and that it is also up for purchase SIM-free and unlocked.
Furthermore, the smartphone packs a nice range of high-end features, aimed at impressing users when it comes both to performance and looks.
The mobile phone comes with a 5-inch full HD touchscreen display, a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot to expand it further.
“The Sony Xperia Z has a 441ppi 5 inch screen with 1080x1920 resolution. The latest Android Jelly Bean, 13 MP camera and a Quad Core Krait processor all encased in an elegant body announce Sony's intent for the smartphone market in a beautiful fashion,” the retailer notes.
Sony included a 13-megapixel photo snapper on Xperia Z’s back, with support for full HD video recording, while also packing a front camera to provide users with the possibility to enjoy video chatting while on the go.
Xperia Z arrives in the US with support for LTE networks, HSDPA, 42 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, NFC, GPS, and microUSB port.
Running under Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system (with plans to be upgraded to Android 4.2 soon), the smartphone features waterproof and dustproof capabilities, while packing a battery capable of delivering up to 550 hours of standby time, or up to 11 hours of talk time.
